Just moved to Florida from Texas. I have been climbing 7 years. As President of a Climbing Club in college, we organized many trips to real rock, and promoted/enlarged a university owned indoor wall on campus. 5.8-5.10 sometimes 5.11. Some trad. Mostly limestone and granite in Texas and Oklahoma. Reimer's Ranch, McKinney Falls, Austin. Hueco Tanks, El Paso. Enchanted Rock, Fredericksburg. Roger's Park, Belton. Wichita Mountains, Quartz Mountain, Oklahoma. It's been 6 months since last climb. Need to get into the gym while here in FL. I should be found at Aiguille Climbing. One of the "refounders" of the Jax Rock Club - we climb out of the Y- former Peak performers. Have regular trips in the southeast and try to do a big one once a year. Pikes Peak last year... all ages welcome - we have climbers from 6 years and 5.6 to me, the old fart at 46, lead 5.10, 5.11 when frisky, and some young 5.13 badasses. I'll be moving from New Paltz (gunks) to the north Jacksonville area for work in mid August 08. I've been climbing trad for about 8 years and am solid at around 5.8 but I'll push it up to easy 10's. I've been climbing for about 5 years now, but experienced an ankle injury about two years ago that had slowed me down. I went to Penn State where the climbing was great and now I'm in the Navy and stationed at Pensacola for flight school. A transplant from upstate NY who's climbing gear has been collecting dust since moving to the southern Coastal Plain region (Savannah, Ga. and now Jacksonville, Fl.) 2-1/2 years ago. Back "in the day" I was climbing all over the Adirondacks, preferably the Lake George and Keene Valley areas. Used to do some bouldering as warm up before a full weekend of climbing, would like to try more. A bit rusty I'm sure...but hoping it will all come back after some hard work and lot's of sweat!
